CLASSIC GAMES / PROJECT COMPARISON
Classic browser game ports
A browser version can mean a rebuilt engine, a frontend or a fan-made adaptation. Start with the exact project and its file requirements. These four project entries and one documentation guide record different levels of evidence.
Retro games in browser: compare projects and check limits
Play Free Demo downloaded the shareware data and displayed the Diablo Shareware menu in desktop Chrome. We did not finish a session or load a full-game MPQ.
The frontend loaded with Open game Folder, Open ZIP and demo-selection controls. The author README explicitly requires your own game files for full games. We supplied no files and did not test gameplay.
The entry page opened in our earlier desktop Chrome check. We did not join a match. A later recheck returned a connection error in our environment; current availability is not confirmed.
The iscle README describes an assets URL, roughly 1.8 GB of streamed game data and IndexedDB saves. We did not load assets, enter a scene or verify saving.
A browser port adapts a particular game or its engine for the web. An emulator in browser instead recreates a target system so that software made for it can run. The original game's release platforms do not tell you which method a browser project uses.
WebXash documents PC installation folders; Diablo Web documents MPQ data. Simpsons is covered as an engine documentation guide, not a PS2 emulator listing. Skate 3's exact data platform and underlying implementation remain unconfirmed here. No console emulator has been classified in this directory.
We provide no game files, ROMs, disc images or BIOS files. Project authors' current instructions take priority over an old observation in this guide.
When a page opens but play does not start
Check the project's requested data first. WebXash and Skate 3 ask for files you supply; Diablo's demo and full-game paths differ. The Simpsons documentation also specifies asset hosting and browser access requirements. Follow the exact project's instructions rather than substituting files intended for another build.
A connection problem is a separate observation. QuakeWorld's later check failed in our environment; Skate 3 showed a server-connection screen on a later visit. Neither observation establishes the cause for every visitor. No standalone HTTP result or new gameplay test is claimed on this comparison page.
No. We link to project instructions and document requirements. We do not host game data, ROMs, disc images or BIOS files.
Are these official releases?
The listed adaptations are independent projects. This directory is not affiliated with their authors or game publishers and does not claim publisher approval.
Can I play these on mobile?
Mobile gameplay has not been tested for these entries. A directory page fitting a phone screen is not evidence that the linked game supports touch controls.
Does a working page mean the full game works?
No. An entry screen, a menu, a rendered scene, responsive input and a completed session are separate observations. The entries above state the actual check limits.
