Clumsy Bird in browser
Ellison Leao's melonJS clone opened its title, Get Ready and zero-step Game Over screens. This is not the original Flappy Bird release; controlled flight, obstacle scoring and mobile input remain unverified.

Basis: project instructions and limited desktop entry observation. Observations: Oct 20, 2026. Conditions organized: October 20, 2026.
Space inputs reached title/Get Ready and zero-step Game Over screens without sign-in or own files. Controlled flight and obstacle clearance were not established; mouse input, records and mobile remain unverified.
Source & instructions (opens in a new tab)Project type: Native browser game
Ellison Leao's original repository identifies a melonJS Flappy Bird clone and links this GitHub Pages demo. It is a separate browser implementation, not the original mobile app or a console emulator.
Classification organized October 20, 2026 from the recorded source and check notes; not a new gameplay test.
Before you open it
- Open the original repository-linked demo, not the original Flappy Bird app or an unrelated clone
- The title lists Space or left mouse click to start and M for mute; only the Space entry path was exercised
- No visitor-supplied game data or sign-in was requested before the observed opening result
Getting started
- Open the author-linked browser demo and read its title instructions.
- Our Space inputs reached Get Ready and later Game Over at zero steps. Reaching those screens did not verify controlled flight or passing a pipe.
- Treat left-click input, mute, obstacle scoring, saved records and phone play as untested rather than assuming they work from the title.
What we checked
On October 20, 2026, the repository-linked GitHub Pages demo displayed Clumsy Bird and Space or left-click start instructions. Space inputs reached Get Ready and later a Game Over panel reading Steps 0 and Higher Step 0. Another Space returned to the title; further opening inputs again reached Get Ready and a zero-step result. We did not establish controlled flapping or a cleared obstacle, so gameplay input remains unknown. No own files, account or payment preceded this path. Mouse start, M mute, persistence and mobile play were not tested.

The author's repository calls this a melonJS Flappy Bird clone and is archived. That is provenance, not proof of a recent release, official Flappy Bird affiliation or active support. We host no game code or assets beyond our own check screenshot; the zero-step panel is not a skill benchmark or proof that a high score persisted.

Which Clumsy Bird project?
This Clumsy Bird browser guide covers the GitHub Pages demo linked by Ellison Leao's own repository. The README calls it a melonJS Flappy Bird clone. That identifies a separate browser implementation, not the original mobile game, an official rerelease or a console emulator. Its title carried Space or left-mouse start instructions and an M mute instruction. We followed the keyboard entry path without downloading a package or opening the repository's local development workflow. The source being archived is important context for support expectations, not evidence that today's demo is unavailable.
Our October 20, 2026 check reached the title, a Get Ready screen and a Game Over panel. The recorded result displayed Steps 0 and Higher Step 0. Additional Space inputs returned to the title and reached another ready/result sequence, but did not establish controlled flight or a successfully passed obstacle. The public screenshot shows the actual zero-step result rather than a borrowed high score. Guide publication and review are dated today; we did not establish the original launch date of this deployment from repository activity or its archive date.
Guide published . Source reviewed . Author release-page publication: Not established. The original repository is archived; the exact first-publication day of the checked demo was not established.
Ellison Leao's original Clumsy Bird repository and linked demo (opens in a new tab)Six conditions for Clumsy Bird in browser
Game files
No owned-game folder, ROM, disc image, local archive or visitor-supplied asset package was requested before the result panel. The original demo loaded its browser resources itself. This is an online page, not a promise of no network transfers, an offline edition or a complete cached installation. The repository includes separate instructions for running a development server, but those were not required for our hosted visit and were not executed. Tab Game Guide provides a source link, requirements notes and its own screenshot; it does not redistribute the game or replace the author's host.
Controls
The title explicitly offered Space or left mouse click to start and M to mute sound. We used Space and observed changes between the title, Get Ready and the later result. That confirms an opening key path, not a repeatable in-flight maneuver. We did not establish a controlled flap, a safe route through a gap or an obstacle-scoring action, and did not exercise left-click or M. Gameplay input therefore remains unknown in the directory filter. A visible keyboard instruction is useful guidance, but it should not be upgraded into a verified keyboard-only flight session.
Account
The title, ready screen and zero-step result requested no registration, email, password or payment. We did not enter a name, connect a social account or submit a score. The Higher Step label is a game display, not proof of an online leaderboard, cloud account or recovered personal record. This account field applies to the opening path only; we did not inspect every linked service or local storage behavior. The directory's bookmark is independent from Clumsy Bird and cannot preserve a run, identify a player or restore the game's best result on another device.
Mobile gameplay
Not tested. We inspected a desktop browser and sent ordinary Space inputs. No touchscreen, phone rotation, virtual keyboard, controller or mobile app was exercised. The presence of a mouse-start instruction does not verify touch input, even if a device can synthesize mouse events. Nor is a phone-width screenshot of this guide a test of the external game's timing, sound or controls. We have not compared mobile browsers or shown that a visitor can start, flap, score and restart there. Treat those questions as open rather than transferring compatibility claims from a different Flappy Bird clone.
Full session
A short opening attempt ended with zero steps; that result is visible and should not be hidden. It does not demonstrate obstacle clearance, a sustained scored run, all collision behavior or a useful timing strategy. We also did not test recovery of Higher Step after a refresh or browser restart. Returning to the title with Space was an observed screen transition, not evidence of saved progress. No high-score performance claim is made from the sample. The directory's full-session label remains unverified for extended gameplay and persistence, while the limited zero-step result is recorded explicitly.
HTTP link check
A separate HTTPS document request to ellisonleao.github.io/clumsy-bird/ returned HTTP 200 with zero redirects on October 20, 2026. Certificate validation remained enabled. The matching repository links that destination, which is stronger provenance than a similarly named game on an unrelated portal. A document response does not prove that a flap is responsive, a pipe can be cleared or a result is saved. Conversely, our zero-step attempt is not evidence of a website outage. Keep transport availability, entry-screen response and gameplay control results as separate observations when comparing a later visit.
Get Ready, Game Over and an archived source
If you are using these notes to compare your own visit, first identify the screen you are on. The title contains start instructions, Get Ready is an opening state and Game Over reports an attempt's result. We observed those distinctions but did not establish a reliable flap cadence. Do not read Steps 0 as a promised starting score or a diagnosis that keyboard input is broken for every visitor. Likewise, Higher Step 0 is simply what our inspected result displayed; it says nothing about another browser profile's history. The archived repository still supplies creator attribution and a demo link, but it should not be described as a newly launched or actively supported project without fresh evidence. A development-server command in its README belongs to building or editing the source, not a prerequisite for opening this browser entry. We used neither a local build nor an unofficial mirror.

Clumsy Bird browser FAQ
Is Clumsy Bird the original Flappy Bird?
No. Ellison Leao's repository describes a separate melonJS clone. This guide covers its linked browser demo, not the original mobile app.
Which screens did your check reach?
The title, Get Ready and Game Over with Steps 0 and Higher Step 0. Space also returned from a result to the title.
Were flapping and pipe clearance confirmed?
No. Opening screens responded, but controlled flight and scoring through an obstacle were not established. Gameplay input stays unknown.
Do I need to supply files or register?
Neither was requested before our opening result. We did not submit a name, score or payment, or test later outside services.
Were mouse input, sound, stored records or mobile play tested?
No. Left-click and M were visible instructions only. Saved results, long runs and phone input were not verified.
