Play chess on an independent, open-source chess platform. Its computer-opponent option is a straightforward starting point for a browser session.

Before you open it
- A connection to Lichess and its asset servers
- Choose Play against computer for the path checked here
- Rated and persistent profile features are outside this anonymous-game check
Getting started
- Open Lichess and select Play against computer; labels follow your chosen site language.
- Choose a level, time control and color in the game-settings dialog.
- Start the game and wait for the chessboard. Play by selecting a piece and its destination.
What we checked
Play against computer opened an anonymous Stockfish level 1 game. The board rendered and the computer made its opening c4 move. We did not complete a match or test rated play and account features.

The board check used an anonymous computer game, not a match with another person. We do not reproduce games, user profiles or live ratings from Lichess.
